Oakridge Academy (Kyle)
Hi, I am Kyle Maclean and I go to a Christian primary school called Oakridge Academy. I have been here since 2014. Our school is different: we are few children in a class; we have kind teachers and we have good friends.
We go on many outings and outreaches. In break-time there is lots to do. You can play sports or games, and you can also just chill and talk to your friends. We have a fun school. We also have time with God and time to pray.
When I grow up I want to be a doctor and Oakridge is helping me to become one.
Oakridge Academy ( Adrian)
My journey with Oakridge Academy started in 2014 when it was still called Little Oaks. Myself and eight other children were the first Grade 1s. Teacher Charné was our teacher then.
The heart of Oakridge Academy is to build great, strong adults for the future. It is to raise boys and girls with character, integrity and a high education standard.
Oakridge Academy is not just a school, it’s a home. We go on outreaches that give us a better view of what other people are going through daily and how we can appreciate what we have. We learn how to be compassionate towards those who are less fortunate than us.
Fun Subjects at Oakridge (Ian)
The most fun thing in foundation phase (Gr R-3) is constructive play. It’s a time where we learn through playing without you knowing that you are learning. In the intermediate phase (Gr 4-6), History and Geography are the funnest subjects ever in history.
The teachers are really kind, caring and loving. They all have an amazing longing for the Lord. The most important time of the day is Bible time where students get to know the Lord. I think Oakridge is the best school in the world.
My Journey with Oakridge Academy (Achuma)
My journey with Oakridge Academy is a lot of fun. I came here in 2014 just when the school started. That time I was only 7 years old and I was really shy.
I enjoy Oakridge Academy because it is not like other schools. At Oakridge Academy there are 6-12 children in a class but in other schools the classes have a lot more children. My favourite subject is Life Skills because I love doing physical education and arts and culture. Another favourite subject is Maths because we learn about Algebra, Division, Multiplication and much much more.
Oakridge Academy is a glorious, awesome and excellent school. Another thing that I like about the school is that the teachers are kind, loving, helpful and sharing. What I don’t want to change about Oakridge Academy is being in small classes because that makes my confidence grow and makes me feel less shy.
Oakridge Academy is the best school that I have ever been to. It may be tough at times but I know for sure that everything will be alright and we will have a great time making each other happy. When I leave Oakridge I want to study to become an amazing doctor to everyone and help them.
The Adventure at Oakridge Academy (Teresa)
I am Teresa Boliter from Oakridge Academy. I have been part of the school since the beginning - the year 2014. This is an amazing school.
What I appreciate most about Oakridge Academy is that we are a Christian School and we believe in God our Father. Every morning we spend time with God. We also learn a lot, like Maths, Afrikaans, English, Geography, History, Natural Science and Life Skills. The most fun subject is Maths because there are all kinds of numbers.
Every term we go on outreaches to bless people, like when we went to the Transkei. All the teachers at Oakridge are kind and loving, especially my Grade 4 Maths teacher. Her name is Kimberly. At our school we exercise every day.
When I grow up I want to be a teacher at Oakridge Academy.
Oakridge Academy (Devon)
I have been in Oakridge Academy since Grade 1. Oakridge Academy is a glorious school. My best subject is Life Skills. We do a lot of fun activities in Life Skills. The most fun thing that I did was watching a production in a real theatre. I liked the play because it was funny and it was about the Little Prince.
I think Oakridge Academy is a wonderful school because it is a Christian school where I get to learn about God and the Bible.
